Governed Implementation
We build that behaviour into the implementation — not onto it.
The Challenge
The decisions made during AI agent implementation look like technical choices. They are behavioural ones.
How a system prompt is written determines how an agent reasons. How retrieval is designed determines what information it acts on. How context is configured determines which decisions it defers and which it makes unilaterally.
If you have been through an implementation, you will recognise some version of this: the agent behaved differently in production than it did in testing, and the reason was not immediately obvious. A change made to fix one problem introduced another. An output seemed wrong but you could not identify which architectural decision had caused it. You tried to investigate a behavioural issue and discovered there was no record of how the agent had been built — what decisions had been made, why, and what the intended implications were.
These are not edge cases. They are the consistent experience of organisations that treat implementation as a purely technical exercise. When the behavioural implications of design decisions are not assessed and documented at build, they become considerably harder — and considerably more expensive — to understand after deployment.
What We Do
Governed Implementation applies a structured behaviour protocol to every implementation decision that carries behavioural consequence — ensuring the agent that goes live is the agent that was designed.
Working alongside your development team, we assess each implementation decision against the Agent Behaviour Profile and Governance Specification. System prompt architecture, retrieval design, context configuration, memory structure, orchestration logic — each is reviewed for its behavioural implications, not just its technical validity.
Where decisions risk producing behaviour that deviates from the approved design, we identify the issue before it is built in. Where the technical approach is sound, we document it. Every decision of behavioural consequence is recorded. The engagement ends with a signed-off Implementation Checklist at go-live.
Implementation Checklist
- System prompt architecture review and sign-off
- Retrieval design assessment — sources, ranking, filtering, context window management
- Context configuration review — what the agent knows and when
- Memory structure assessment — what persists, what resets, and the behavioural implications
- Agent orchestration review — how the agent coordinates with other systems and agents
- Boundary conditions check — out-of-scope behaviour addressed at architecture level
- Go-live sign-off — a record of every high-consequence decision and its resolution
How It Connects
Governed Implementation sits between the Agent Governance Blueprint and production deployment. The Implementation Checklist is the evidence that the standard was applied. For post-deployment monitoring, the Checklist becomes part of the documentation base that AegentIQ draws on when evaluating whether production behaviour is consistent with how the agent was built.
